Blog Format Changes

Google is asking everyone to move to the new Blog Design Tool which I've done with some older posts losing their links to photos. I might fix these but have had some problems when I changed the titles which meant instead of the post being edited it became a new post out of date sequence.

The good new is I think I've cracked how to use the new tool which is better and allows for bigger thumbnail pictures which when clicked will open up a larger version which can be downloaded.

Hot in May

Photos taken while having a barbecue in Olive's garden. Olive had spotted a stock dove amongst the feral pigeons so I've included collared, feral, wood and stock photos for comparison.

Also around just now are three broods of starlings who are decimating the fat balls and we are still seeing sparrowhawks from time to time.

Kinnordy Loch

Nothing spectacular at Kinnordy today when it came to photos but the Marsh Harrier was busy hunting and chasing crows away and an Osprey was fishing. This was the first warm day for a long time and there was a definite lack of insect life and wildflowers aren't as far on as the would have been at this time last year. I've included a sequence of three shots of Mute Swans mating which I'm assuming is because their first nest was waterlogged or affected by predation?

Montreathmont Hide

Some pictures taken at the hide in Montreathmont. It was difficult to find and photo the green woodpecker as it wouldn't come close enough and it spent much of the time creeping up trees in the distance. Everything else seemed much more confident around the hide until a sparrowhawk spooked them for a while, fortunately it didn't make a kill, unfortunately it spotted me moving the camera and I never got it.
