Where are all of the South Esk Salmon

These lot may have eaten them all. I counted 15 grey seals lying up on the edge of the main flow of the South Esk opposite the Wildlife Centre at Montrose Basin. They were about 700 metres from the hide looking due north towards Tayock Cemetery, they didn't show many signs of movement and obviously weren't hungry. I wonder if the low water in the river is preventing salmon running upstream and keeping them just where the seals can eat them.
