Very brief visit to Forfar Loch, the park was closed and grandson peeved.

 Great Crested Grebe
This years Willow Warbler chick

A very pale Blue Tit which I imagine is a new chick, the colours look OK on the  peanuts and feeder. My book doesn't give enough detail about young birds so I could be wrong. (again)
Something wrong with this Chaffinch's left leg. One of the Montreathmont  birds.

Butterfly, Bee and Hoverfly, all at Montreathmont Forest

Butterfly, Bee and Hoverfly, all at Montreathmont Forest and the second species seen in my new pond, Midge larva. I liked the first species better and hope they may return as they might predate the midgies.

Reasonably confident this is a Bog Hoverfly, haven't tried to ID the flies
Common Blue Butterfly female
Looks like a Cuckoo Bee, perhaps a Gipsy Cuckoo?
Maybe as many as 500 of these midge larva in my newly dug pond, joy!
