Short walk at Auchmithie to Arbroath Cliff Path

The first picture below is a collage of some of the 12 commonest different wild flowers we saw in the field margins and along the cliff path. This was clearly attracting hundreds of insects, bumble bees, hover flies, butterflies and some day flying moths including a Cinnabar Moth which a certain 5 year old scared away before a photo could be taken! As well as the butterflies below there were also Large and Small Whites and a few Ringlets.

Balgavies Loch July 13th

A few photos from Balgavies on Friday evening. Two Ospreys which appear paired but didn't nest, remain at the loch. The Otter was sited a week ago during the day, as yet no photos. The geese numbering 76 in the picture will I suspect become a problem if their numbers continue to increase at these levels.

Just sitting in the garden

Recovering after a grandchildren visit and just sitting in the garden taking photos of anything interesting.
The house sparrows are currently rearing their third brood and a fledgling was being shown the drinking water, or bath. The rest of the second brood were on the roof where the parents have a third brood.
The Dunnocks did bring a pair of youngsters some time ago and may well be rearing some more, we'll keep an eye out for them.
It's easy to ignore some of the small flowers or as some call them weeds but have a close look at the daisy and clover macro shots,I might even get the macro lens out next time.
Olive's tree is still full of wasps and I got a close up of a strange miniature wasp easily half the size of the rest.
