Sticking with the theme of small fast moving birds, the three Sanderlings I saw at Lunan Bay on 28/12/2014 were the only birds not permanently scared away by the many dogs being exercised on the beach.

More Crossbills, maybe a bit better
Difficult little birds to take photos of as they are always mobile high in the pines but these are a bit better than previous ones and the video I'm quite pleased with which can be viewed in HD by changing the default setting.

Black Redstart at Montrose Harbour
I'd never found one of these rarer Redstarts before and did so with some ease after finding a report on BirdGuides which I've now taken out a subscription. There was a bird seen earlier in the month nearby so I'm assuming it may be the same one?

Crossbills in Montreathmont
This photo was taken into the setting sun, I'm just surprised I was able to get one at all. Good enough to prove the ID though.
Three females very high up

Arbroath, staying close to home
Still not getting out far so a visit to Victoria Park, Arbroath had to do. Herring Gulls again but adults today, some Ringed Plovers kept mobile by dog walkers and a Tufted Drake at Keptie Pond. Still some Purple Sandpipers at Inchcape Park, Arbroath.

Sparrowhawk female with Sparrow
This is the first time I've actually seen the female Sparrowhawk in my garden although Olive has seen it a few times. Today it took a House Sparrow from the Cotoneaster and went to the darkest spot in my garden to eat it so I set the camera up for a flight shot and of course it posed for a few seconds and I missed an opportunity for a good photo.

Wrong camera today
A visit to one of the Angus Glens and for some reason I didn't take my DSLR which is the best option for birds in flight, even at distance it beats the Canon SX50.
Red Kite, wrong shutter speed!
Included as it's tagged
I'm thinking this is one of a brood I saw in summer
Same Buzzard taken near dusk
The right-hand Whooper wouldn't oblige and show me it's leg rings

Woodpeckers at Montreathmont
Rather than the close shot from the hide I'm posting one of a Great Spotted Woodpecker high in the trees along with a Green Woodpecker taken at 100 times zoom at the far end of the fire break. Also a Dunnock sitting in the sun on Sunday morning at Arbroath Cliffs.
