Curlew Sandpiper in Arbroath

The first Curlew Sandpiper I've seen this season and found by Gus and Jon while I was sat at home fiddling with changes to this blog!

Seen at the West Links in Arbroath behind the old bathing pool building, now Chalmers Cinema and Milimia Pizza.

Photographed feeding from the sea wall near the children's play park

I tried to get a comparison photo with a Dunlin but this was the best I could get when they were feeding and moving constantly

One of the Mediterranean Gulls, this adult was roosting on the pitch and putt course earlier in the week

As it was flying in from the B&Q direction where I've seen it go on a number of occasions

Curlew sitting on the rock armour in the evening, lit by a lowering sun
