Roseate Terns and Spoonbill

I managed to catch up with the Roseate Terns I'd seen earlier this week, and this time I had a camera and it was still quite bright enough for some photos. Earlier in the day the Spoonbill at Montrose Basin and three Little Egrets were at the Lurgies, and I could see the Ruddy Shelduck in Maryton Bay.

Just found this, Game Bird Releases and bags 2016, click here and be amazed, no shocked and saddened

Roseate Tern and juvenile behind the pitch and put, Pleasureland at Arbroath. The terns and sometimes Little Gulls will sit on the rocks as the tide comes in. I've found I need to be there at least two hours before high tide, will change between spring and neep tides. They fly away when the tide gets closer to the sea wall

I don't get many photos of Roseates so I'm posting two!

What to do when the terns fly away, sneak up on Curlews

Earlier in the day when it had become dull, the Spoonbill at the Lurgies obliged by coming close to Neil and I. Seeing Neil's results with a 500mm lens has led to "lens envy" on my part

This one shows you what the original looked like before cropping for this blog, 5568 pixels down to 1200

I'd like to think this is a happy looking Greenshank at the Lurgies
