Untold Suffering

First a link to a document about the suffering animals endure to allow the shooting of Red Grouse, and other "game" species. The following photos are from Carnoustie Golf Links and Monikie Country Park, all hindered by a very dull day.

Goldcrest from about 20 metres, at CGL

Drake Goldeneye on the small lake on the Buddon Course, another and two ducks were present

One half of one of the two pairs of Mute Swans on CGL, seen on the pond in the southwest corner

I'm not sure if these two are a third pair

Goldeneye duck (female) at Monikie

Did this Muscovy fly into the Island Pond at Monikie, or is it another from a collection "liberated" to be taken by a fox

The Denfind pond at Monikie has been drained leaving shallow pools. There were nineteen Redshanks hunting sticklebacks in the pools, that's sixteen more than last years high. No Green sandpiper seen but it's a big pond.

Juvenile/1st winter stickleback!

This looked good after checking the Collins for a Greater Scaup, it's been at Monikie for some time now, but its a hybrid!

Close to a Scaup but a Heinzer!
