168 Sanderlings sitting on the beach - sounds like the opening line in a long and boring childrens song

It seems I've been in lockdown longer than anyone else or I just didn't do the arithmetic, not maths as used widely and surely in error! My day count graphic won't be updated today till it catches up with reality, remember that?

My exercise was a longer walk on Wednesday and I got as far as Hatton before Olive and I turned back due to sand blowing in our eyes. However, it was a good walk where we saw our first House Martins of the year, a flock of 168 Sanderlings, 4 Curlews, 24 Oystercatchers, Turnstones, Stonechats, Reed Bunting and Skylarks. It was like going back to the old days, no marauding packs of dogs being walked by people for those too lazy or unable to walk them themselves, and importantly no sign of fresh dog poo!

I really like this Sanderling video, click here to play in my Flickr
