Green Sandpiper and Common Darter Dragonfly

Back to birds, albeit not many as an injury is restricting things!
Descriptions below most photos from various places.

Green Sandpiper at Murton, Buddy's Loch, 13/8/2020

What seems to be a very late start for what must be a second attempt at breeding this year for two House Martins, they're building this nest on the remains of an old one which fell down some years ago. They don't seem to mind whether the nest is on the sunny side of the houses in my street, this like my other photographed one is shaded until evening. The second attempt in the other nest should see young peering out this coming week

They started on 11/8/2020 and a look just now on 14/8/2020 suggests they could be on eggs, although the nest isn't quite complete

The first Common Darter Dragonfly I've seen this year, this and a few others were at Murton on Thursday, only one female seen (P1000)

Photos from my P1000, yes I'm pleased with them

Maiden Pink at Murton, as requested by Olive

Still quite a number of adult Sand Martins feeding young in the wall site at Murton, the wooden nest structures appear abandoned by the reserve despite a fund-raising event some years ago
