Balgavies Pochards

Becoming very much an Angus rarity, the Pochard. A drake and two ducks were at Balgavies on Monday morning but not always visible or easy to see. These photos are from the hide which is in the shadiest part of the loch.

Drake Pochard at Balgavies, found on Sunday by Jonathon

Not close enough in the light for a decent photo

One of two female Pochards which were with the drake

A juvenile Peregrine which is hunting at Montrose Basin most days, and one of a flock of Lapwings chasing it off

I can't remember as many Cormorants in one place, these at Rossie Spit numbered 58 birds
