Balgavies Loch on a sunny day (for a change)

Most birds are currently sitting on nests with the male guarding them so it's not easy to find subjects around the loch.

Looking West from the Friockheim end of the Loch and below that male then female Common Blue Damselflies

Dunnock
Osprey
Unusual to see a Pied Wagtail up a tree, this one was warding me off

Shelduck Hide, Montrose Basin

Late entries from Montrose Basin on June 2nd.

Female Linnet
Male Skylark
Juvenile Starling and below a Swallow

Loch Leven, a brief visit

In the distance in front of the Carden Hide was a Little Ringed Plover and chicks but too far away in the dull conditions for a photo. A bit nearer were Gadwall, Shelduck, Black-headed Gulls, Wigeon and Shoveler.

I'm beginning to feel that a crow is following me about
A Lapwing in a field behind the hide, many more were nesting on the marshes
Male and female Shoveler, now that's a beak!
