Year Review - February 2016

Some photos from February 2016 ranging from Aberdeen to Pitlochry and as expected it's a mixture of wintering wildfowl and birds of prey.

A male Hen Harrier trying and failing to drive a Buzzard away from his hunting patch which is one of the Corn Bunting seed strips

The now famous Ring-necked Duck on the Cuilic in Pitlochry which has turned up again this winter and was seen today.

This Mandarin is also still around in Johnston Gardens in Aberdeen having returned again from Norway to winter in the Granite City

Red Grouse in Glen Lethnot

One of the later Short-eared Owls, this one was on the golf course at Kings Links, Aberdeen and could be seen from the road along the esplanade

A rare visitor to Carnoustie Golf Links and it was eventually chased off by the resident Mute Swan

The water at Keptie Pond, Arbroath did look that colour when I photographed this female Goosander

A Grey Plover just about at the furthest north of the range they are usually seen in along the Angus coast, this was at Hatton near Easthaven
