MOUNTAIN HARE SEASON STARTS TODAY, click here to read about it
Two of three Green Sandpipers in the scrape at the Lurgies on Tuesday. Having reported them I didn't venture near them, hence the shaky photo in strong wind
This Ruff was always far to far away for me, the whole width of the river and shingle between us, but after being flushed by a juvenile Peregrine my mate Ron got a photo when it landed near him on the Lurgies path
Sandwich Tern just after high tide at Victoria Park, Arbroath. Two other birds, a juvenile and adult were photographed with rings. Waiting for details
Incoming, then a squabble briefly as usual
Another ringed bird, J4U3, it's covered in mud in the photo. This Black-headed Gull at the Old Harbour has returned every year since 2013 at least. Ringed originally in Norway in 2012
Often thought of as a dull bird, this photo shows the detail of this Rock Pipits feathering. Caught in flight in the corner of the frame when it flew off from a rock, what else
