"Whars a' the burds"

A change of plans on Friday meant I was too late in getting to Backwater Dam, the sun and the birds had gone!

Next I by-passed Lintrathen and went straight to Kinnordy where there was hardly anything at all, the Treecreeper below saved the day.

Forfar Loch also had seen a movement of birds, away, with only some Lesser black-backed Gulls and a single Great Crested Grebe of any note.

The frogs returned to my garden today in numbers, and on the same date as last year, March 19th. I found the earliest date I've seen frogs was March 10th in Montreathmont where it was more sheltered and probably a warmer spring

No videos, but there might be one of Yellowhammers in my camera, at least 6 and probably 8 have been coming in.

Have this video meantime, Bad Company - Seagull

Common Gull 2nd calendar year at Backwater Dam

Common Gull adult

Lesser Redpoll female, Backwater Dam

Lesser Redpoll male

Mistle Thrush at the top of a very tall tree at the car park, singing from there and other high trees

Song Thrush singing near the Gullery Hide at Kinnordy Loch

Goosander in front of the East Hide, it had fished its way along the waters edge

Two Greylag Geese had control of the space at the East Hide and weren't sharing

As with most decent photos of Treecreepers, this one wasn't planned, it just appeared in front of me on the path at Kinnordy. This is an uncropped but resized original

This is a crop of the one above also resized. Many of the photos in this post were not cropped, just resized fro 5568 pixels to 1430 to fit the blog template

Two very obliging Lesser black-backed Gulls which drifted almost into the bank at Forfar Loch. I counted seven of them with another two probables in the distance

Two Magpies were very tolerant while gathering nesting material near the start of the busy path

The same Vixen has been visiting my garden for at least 4 years, I hope it doesn't eat too many of the twenty or so Frogs which appeared today in my pond which already has spawn. I think I pushed the trail camera setting too far and think I'll stick to video
