My annual visit to the Glen Prosen area proved fruitful, with Whinchat, Tree Pipit, Common Redstart, Cuckoos, Green Woodpecker, and an astonishing 17 Blackcocks. Also, I was surprised to find 4 Garden Warblers singing, add to that three new insect species. It was an early start with the sun shining but later misty low cloud brought a chill, and many birds stopped singing. Some of my sightings were fleeting and I didn't get any photos, the Garden Warbler was my least expected photo success, even in the light.
