Foxes, Butterflies and Dolphins

A strange experience with two foxes, butterflies, dolphins and more. Photos from July 2nd and 3rd.

Video of one of this years Barn Swallow juveniles, click here     sitting on a blueberry tunnel

Adult Fox with a cub following close behind. These two almost walked straight into me while I was doing a Corn Bunting survey. The wind was blowing towards me and I stood still as I saw them approach and was amazed they didn't see me till about 2 metres away!

Lots of butterflies out just now with the good weather. This one is a Meadow Brown, Red Head

Painted Lady, Ethie

Small Heath, Kinnaber Links

Dark Green Fritillary, lots at Kinnaber Links

Common Blue female, Kinnaber Links

Bottlenose Dolphins seen from Red Head near Lunan Bay, two under the water to the right

Athletic sheep on the cliffs at Red Head

Fulmar, Red Head

Herring Gull, Red Head

I'm seeing Greenfinches often just now, this one near Ethie Castle, others in numbers at Seaton

One of five support boats laying up in Lunan Bay with Scurdie Ness and St Cyrus in the background

The closest Corn Bunting to Arbroath I've found so far, it wasn't more than 50 metres from the last houses. (Canon SX60)

The young House Martins still have a few days yet before they fledge and the adults are very busy feeding them

I've stopped feeding with fat balls after they attracted this Jackdaw two days running, it's gone now

On my surveys I see many Yellowhammers but this one is on Kinnaber Links
