Scurdie Ness and a July Purple Sandpiper

A short trip to Scurdie Ness in the hope of seeing some Gannets close in failed. Instead I found a single Purple Sandpiper at my feet almost, in a channel amongst the rocks. The road down to Scurdie proved fruitful and I saw quite a number of adult and young songbirds. 

Next I went up to the Lurgies, without much hope as the tide was out my expectations were confirmed. Late in the day though, late enough to make me late home, the Spoonbill showed up as it was pushed up the basin by the incoming tide. Too far out for any photos though.
