Spoonbills and Pinkies


Some photos and video of the two Spoonbills and a juvenile Curlew Sandpiper I found at the Lurgies on Wednesday. I'd gone on the off chance that a missing Cattle Egret from Strathbeg might be in the field with the cattle, it wasn't but I suppose if there are cattle on the north bank, the ground there is also suitable.

In the shade of a large dark cloud



Pink-footed Geese, around 80 birds were moving around with some preening in the ditch at Miss Erskine's Bank



What looked like a very black Canada Goose which later was found to be a rich dark brown on the back and a lighter brown on its flanks which I think means it's a young bird and perhaps the one I'd mentioned on the blog before
