On arrival at the Lurgies I could see the Great Egret from my car and one of the videos below demonstrates how far it was out on the mud, and that's where it stayed until a Peregrine flushed it and the waders. The Whooper Swans were on the downstream bend of the river towards Maryton, I noticed all were adults?
Great and Little Egrets fishing Great Egret Whooper Swans Whoopers - all adults? Great Egret zoom demo
And last, distant Common Scoters, Lunan Bay
Great Egret, far enough away that all images and videos are likely at 125 times zoom
Little Egret, 3 seen but certainly 5 have been present, and I've recently seen one at St Cyrus
Originally there were 23 Whooper Swans present and all were adults. I wonder if the family groups migrated first and if these are new later arrivals
Currently this Sparrowhawk is keeping most bird species away from my garden. Must clean the windows, after the wind stops.
One of the more unusual mixes found in the Feral Pigeon population
At this time I'm assuming this charter boat may have something to do with the ongoing wind farm construction. It came into Arbroath Harbour and berthed in the inner dock (marina). It's possible to see some new turbines from the Mains of Usan, probably you'd need a scope as they are just over the horizon with only the nacelle and the blades showing
