Great Egret and Bumblebee love

There's still a Great White Egret at Montrose Basin, seen on Wednesday from Maryton and better from the Lurgies path. It was just happy enough to tolerate me following it upstream as the tide came in, despite being far out in a channel. A slow pace with frequent stops seemed to work, every time I stopped it watched me before continuing its fishing. Photos from the P1000.

Also two bumblebee rescues, a hopeless attempt to hide by a moth, and a garden visit from a young Magpie. Photos from my D7200 with a 17mm - 70mm lens.

Great White Egret in hunting mode as the tide came in at Montrose Basin (Lurgies)

The two Common Sandpipers are not sure about the Egret and quickly flew off as it moved closer

Two at at least six Greenshanks

This Garden Bumblebee was found inside an open window in my house during darkness and was still lethargic in the morning. Some sugary water on a bit of kitchen roll did the trick and it flew off

A clearer view of the extra long tongue

A virgin queen Tree Bumblebee, another showing inaction during a colder spell. I'd like to think it's the one in the video at the start of this post, having recovered in the same fashion ast the other bumblebee

A Riband Wave Moth on a window sill

I think this is one of this years youngsters which were being escorted around the street last week by their parents

Some more of the Great Egret from above, by this point it was near Miss Erskine's Bank
