From the previous post, "I may get some forest birds this week as it's my hide rota week, Crossbills would be good"
I'd only walked a short distance on the track to the hide on my rota visit and found a dispersed flock of birds feeding in the birch trees, and a decent number of them were Crossbills with some conveniently sitting in a dead tree.
