Arbroath, (originally Aberbrothock) bird life

From 25-27 September in and around Arbroath. At least one Great Egret remained at Montrose Basin, the Lurgies, along with six Little Egrets.

I was a bit late going to West Links, Arbroath and missed 3 Mediterranean Gulls. The tide was too high and the remnants of Storm Agnes had arrived.

My camera thought it was dark when I arrived at Keptie Pond, and there wasn't much to see. The first two Wigeon had arrived, most gulls were absent and 2 Stock Doves were frightened away by dogs.

I may get some forest birds this week as it's my hide rota week, Crossbills would be good.....

Great Egret, Montrose Basin

Little Egret, Montrose Basin

Pied Wagtail at West Links Arbroath, just as Storm Agnes started to have an effect

The Robin, Rock Pipits, and Wheatears were foraging on the sea weed left by the last high tide

Mallard at Keptie Pond, my first visit for months and to get some shelter from the wind at the beach

The Pintail/Mallard drake is still there, associating loosely with another hybrid duck

This one appears to be a Mallard/Tufted hybrid drake
