I've had a quick look through my folders of photos from throughout this year and have come up with an unlikely mixture. Here they are in alphabetical order and are from July to September 2023. I have more which I'll put in last post before the year ends.
Comma Butterfly at Crombie Country Park
Common Carder Bee, garden
Common Hawker Dragonfly, Crombie
Dunnock fledgling, in my garden
Emerald Damselflies Lestes sponsa, Barry Buddon
Four-spotted Chaser Libellula quadrimaculata, Barry Buddon
Great Egret at Montrose Basin
House Sparrow in my garden with my car in the background providing the rich red colour
Large Red Damselflies mating, Crombie
Potato Capsid Closterotomus norwegicus adult, my garden
The Footballer or Sun Fly - Helophilus pendulus Crombie
A Tree Bumblebee Queen in my garden, I had three nests in my dormer, two large and successful, and a smaller less productive nest. Swarms of males flew around the nests all day and now and then a new Queen would grab one and fly off to mate and start a new nest
