Green-winged Teal (found by Dan)

Well, wind and light not good for seeing and photographing this Green-winged Teal, but at least it was still in the Slunks where Dan Pointon had found it.
There was an upside though when an Osprey flew overhead and 73 Whooper Swans flew in from the nearby fields along with 20+ Mute Swans
More to come in the next post..........

Some of the Whooper Swans, click here

Green-winged Teal, unfortunately it was over 170 metres away on the north bank of the South Esk. It's the one sleeping back centre with the vertical white stripe (it has one either side)

This and the next photo will do me for this Osprey season, they were taken when I was trying to get a record of the Teal above. I will of course take more photos of any Ospreys flying close or doing something interesting

Also from the same place at the Lurgies I counted 73 Whooper Swans, some in these two photos and the video above

A male Red-breasted Merganser

I took a number of photos of the Teal flying around after something flushed them, my hope was that I'd get a flight photo of the Green-winged Teal, I found it hadn't moved when the flock took to the air

Most of a flock of Knot seen near the Old Harbour, I might count them later!
