I visited a known Kittiwake colony at Arbroath Cliffs on Thursday and was very disappointed to see that during an hour I was there that numbers were down
by around 80%. I'm hoping that they haven't started breeding yet and that they were foraging out at sea. Looking back through photos from other years
I couldn't calculate a date when nests were occupied, perhaps I'm being misled by the long spell of sunny weather, I hope so.
Currently a camera is filming the Starlings in my garden, so expect a video later....

This years Starlings arrived on 14/5/2025, two or three family groups, then on the 15th at least 30 birds were active along the back gardens
Feed Me!
The first House Sparrow chick on Thursday, never seen with any siblings
Some years ago I had a Tree Sparrow and a House Sparrow tending a nest on Olive's roof, this one was close to the nest and I'll be watching for any evidence.
