Youngsters, various chicks born recently

The following are all related to breeding, this year and previous, chicks, Mums and Dads

Not a youngster but Mum giving an alarm call and trying to distract me away from her nest, I was at the other side of a burn miles away
Last years young Great Black-backed Gull next to a Herring Gull showing size difference
One of many new House Sparrow chicks around at Arbroath Harbour
This Mallard at Craigmill Den has done well to get eight ducklings to this stage
Compared to the dull adult Redshanks around at Montrose Basin this young one looks perfect and wasn't too wary when it landed close by
Mum and Dad Spotted Flycatcher both keeping an eye on me at Craigmill Den, they look to have at least four chicks near to fledging
A fledgling Wren in Craigmill Den, you can still see the chicks gape and its tail hasn't grown yet
