Arbroath Beach - Rock Armour devastation??

Currently Geddes are installing new rock armour to protect the sea wall at the West Links Arbroath and the first photos show the rock already installed which has resulted in the beach surface being destroyed. I do wonder if Angus Council were required to carry out an environmental assessment before a track was forged along from Gayfield Park and also how big an area will eventually be affected by the work of the heavy machinery and the hundreds of tons of rock. Who knows the beach may heal and might even be better, but I wonder if the gull roost will disappear and we'll lose the Med Gulls?
