Iceland Gull and the return of Puffins

A 3rd winter Iceland Gull made a visit to Arbroath Harbour today, at first sitting at either ends of the west breakwater before flying off to preen in the sea offshore of the Old Brewhouse. Just the three Puffins at Auchmithie but I'm sure the numbers will build up over the next week or two.

Iceland Gull 3rd winter on the west breakwater, Arbroath Harbour, with a Great Black-backed Gull for size comparison

On its way to just off the Old Brewhouse, perhaps it may stay and preen in the Brothock Burn at low tide

For comparison with a Great Black-backed and Herring Gulls

Best I could get in the late afternoon just before the rain at Auchmithie and they weren't keen to come inshore
