A sparse day out around Montrose

Looking for something specific isn't always the best day out and that was proved today, but at least I was out of the wind for a while. There's still a large flock of Redshanks at the Basin which disappeared upstream today but returned to roost at high tide at the Slunks. The wind at St Cyrus kept most of the small birds hidden and the Buzzards and Fulmars high up. The forecast for the weekend should mean spring will start for real on Monday, bring it on.

A pair of Red-breasted Mergansers from the Shelduck Hide at Montrose Basin

Only one Brown Hare on Mains of Dun today, just chillin but aware I was there and never let me close

A young Mute swan covered in mud from feeding in a rape field, around fifteen were in the original group

One of the St Cyrus Ravens, both were around the nest today but not always sitting. I didn't see any Peregrines but did see one Kestrel

I'm not sure how this will look. At the top of the shadow I see a face which appears to be looking over the Raven's nest. Is it Ravens that are associated with the devil or crows, or both

There were seven Roe Deer at St Cyrus today, five males and two females

There were five in this group which had the two females

As yet an unknown species of beetle, well unknown to me
