Little and large, even the very young cygnets are giants compared to the adult Little Ringed Plover on the water's edge
A drookit Magpie, one of the enemy, which also includes gulls, crows, kestrels, sparrowhawks and as the water recedes stoats, weasels and foxes. It's tough being a Little Ringed Plover chick
This Oystercatcher benefits the plovers by chasing the crows from it's nest, seen here with another sitting
