Doldrums approaching..............

A few photos taken on my days off from the "Gulls in the Glens" which hasn't proved very fruitful.

Little Ringed Plover chicks, another cropped out of the original photo

Little and large, even the very young cygnets are giants compared to the adult Little Ringed Plover on the water's edge

A drookit Magpie, one of the enemy, which also includes gulls, crows, kestrels, sparrowhawks and as the water recedes stoats, weasels and foxes. It's tough being a Little Ringed Plover chick

This Oystercatcher benefits the plovers by chasing the crows from it's nest, seen here with another sitting

Yellowhammer

The young House Sparrow on the left perch hasn't quite sussed the landing and balance yet and not helped by its sibling
