Mediterranean Gulls - not weather

A check on the Mediterranean Gulls at West Links in Arbroath, at high tide, when I found a 1st and 2nd summer sitting on the seaweed at the foot of the rock armour with the Black-headed Gulls and a single Sandwich Tern. No terns were found at Inchcape Park where the continuous parking of twenty campervans seems to put them off roosting there at high tide. Time to charge for overnight stays or Council Tax, and I wonder where they wash and empty their toilets, those that have one!

Mediterranean Gull 1st summer (one year old)

Mediterranean Gull 2nd summer (two years old). The larger shuffled looking feathers than a Black-headed Gull has are shown well here

Lesser Black-backed Gull

Sandwich Tern, as with the gulls it was difficult to get a clear view at high tide

I am intrigued with the large tongue which it obviously needs for its diet of mussels and crabs
