Whinchat, Glen Lethnot

A brief visit to Glen Lethnot which was hindered by spells of heavy rain. We did see 2 Red Kites, 2 Buzzards, 15 Ravens (likely young birds together), 1 Whinchat, 1 Stonechat, 1 Common Sandpiper, 1 Dipper, 9 Wheatears, many Meadow Pipits, 12 Red Grouse, 2 Mistle Thrushes, 2 Pied Wagtails, and Lapwings, Curlews, Oystercatchers.

Might have a video of Curlews harassing a Buzzard, nah! quality in the rain was poor.

Whinchat, Glen Lethnot

Original long shot, avoiding disturbing a nesting bird

Red Grouse

Common Sandpiper, flushed as we walked up the track

Dipper (above the shadow!)

Meadow Pipit

Wheatear

Buzzard, the last bird I saw like this had been shot according to an expert I asked, the "Angus Glen moult"

This is where I found 3 or 4 Whinchat territories in the past, I hope they'll find somewhere else and return when it grows in again
