Swift, and a lost lens cap

Photos from my garden over Thursday and Friday, calm on Thursday when I photographed one of the three Swifts zooming past where they nested last year, and breezy on Friday and just manageable in a sheltered corner.

I'm a bit miffed as I'd removed my lens cap when trying to get a Swift photo, placed it on a garden seat and forgot to pick it up. I can only think that my Vixen, a Magpie or even a Herring Gull picked it up, and it's nowhere to be found, probably dropped elsewhere or of even cached. It was a nuisance anyway and has been replaced by a beanie hat and some elastic, the only actual replacement on the whole of the internet was £49.99.....

Swift, possibly nesting in my roof

Near to the flight photo I wanted, too windy in my garden on Friday

Common Spotted Field Syrph, or Migrant Hoverfly?

Olive's new House Martin nest, built on the remains of a previous nest which fell down, as did a half built nest two years ago. Did you spot the Bumblebee on the nest?
