A Pochard found by Jon at Balgavies was hiding behind the island when I was in the hide, and when it eventually appeared the sun was flaring off it's wet plumage. See video below.
It's my Hide rota this week so I felt obliged to photograph the visitors, as you'll see below.
A quick look at Arbroath Cliffs, and Fulmars were still around, no Kestrel today but 78 Curlews feeding in the first two fields.
My last site was near dusk at Inchcape Park and a large flock of 40-50 Purple Sandpipers were on the West Breakwater along with Turnstones, Redshanks and Oystercatchers. An unidentified bird in the rock armour was most likely a Robin, but I'll have another look in case its a Black Redstart which I doubt!

Lesser Redpoll Montreathmont Forest, note the metal ring on the right leg. The last one I saw was identified when a ringer caught the bird, it had been ringed in Belgium

Starlings, Inchcape. A nightly murmuration appears near Arbroath Bus Station, tonight I'd estimate 800+. Seen from the car at Brothock Bridge
Just as I was getting ready to go out today, this young male Sparrowhawk that's been keeping my garden birds away had a go at the Starlings
