The results of a noisy visit to Tayock at Montrose Basin and a walk around Arbroath Harbour.
Little Egret and yapping dogs Egret on the march Eider with possible gun shot wound
Little Egret at Tayock, Montrose Basin. On a dull day with poor light and lots of noise from yapping dogs running about my feet, while the owners shouted at them! Some of it is in the video at half volume.
Eider, note the red colour on the back of its neck and back, given it was also lethargic I think it had been shot. It was in the Tayock Burn near the hide
Rock Pipit at Arbroath harbour, this one can be very tame
Same bird feeding on the scraps from the sunks
This one frequents the area near Danger Point
There were around 150 gulls at Danger Point taking turns to bathe and preen in the fresh water of the Brothock. Yes I'm fascinated by gulls and especially Great black-backed Gulls
This near adult owns this lamp-post at the Back o' the heids
These two Little Grebes are looking more like a pair as the year progresses. I wonder if they will move to Keptie Pond soon
