I've been "housebound" recently while workmen have been doing some of the stuff I've been putting off since I retired 12 years ago.
All of the photos below are from Olive's garden, I can't claim to grow flowers. I leave it to the birds to plant whatever they want in my garden, which has a small lawn, a wildlife area and a wild pond.
Speaking of the pond, about a fortnight ago I had a look to see what was under the carpet of duckweed and was surprised to find a few tadpoles still without legs, at the same time I was finding very small frogs (14mm), larger frogs (24mm) and adult frogs in the back and front gardens. I'm speculating that there were too many tadpoles early on and not enough food?
Anyway, on with the "out of house work" and back to birds by the weekend I hope. I might try some insect videos if the wind stops during my coffee breaks!
