Misty on the coast, and all that Jazz

A recce near Auchmithie for my Corn Bunting surveys was affected by light then heavy/dense mist. I usually check what's in the fields and try to find a route that's efficient, some years I've covered 10.5 miles on a survey, including climbing over high drystane dykes! I only got part of the farm done, then went back home where it was sunny......

House Martins near Auchmithie, but not near me

Whitethroat in Auchmithie

I took this photo to try and show the mist which was rolling up the cliffs, on the way back the bull was still there but the camera couldn't see it when the mist got very dense

I suspect this is the first Bullfinch I've ever seen in my garden. There's not much habitat around for them as neighbours have built over lawns with extensions, summer houses, conservatories, patios and all sorts of furniture

This Rook is getting very cocky

and is this Jackdaw

The Woodpigeons almost ignore me

Juvenile Starlings arrived a couple of days ago

This female Blackbird lands on the garage roof, drops down on to a bird box, then into the bush where it's nest is, the young must be due to fledge anytime now

I think this Feral Pigeon is a young bird, it's plumage looks brand new, another bird unphased by people
