Montrose Basin birds after I had found the Montreathmont track was closed for works for the new pylon line from the north.
I'd gone to do my first rota visit of the season and didn't expect to be taking photos due to the "darkness". Note, the Little Egret photos are in colour, that's how grim it was!
One of the many, at least eight, Little Egrets at Montrose Basin
Black-tailed Godwit which appears to be favouring the Old Harbour as the tide rises
Same bird
Cormorant numbers increasing, as were the showers and wind
Not many Lapwings, but they won't be far away
Montreathmont track, no access due to works
Work being done on Montreathmont Forest for the new pylons. It looks like the existing fire break with power lines is going to be widened
There are a few piles of cut logs along the track and this digger was working on the track immediately west of the fire break
