Murton NR - Shoveler Ducks and Typhoons!


There weren't many birds at Murton NR near Forfar when Olive and I visited on the last day of March, but we saw a few more species such as Chiffchaff, Shoveler, Lapwing and an unknown wader which appeared to be a sandpiper. I'm inclined to think it was a Green Sandpiper, but it's now time for Common Sandpipers returning. I might have found the bird until two RAF Typhoons went directly over where we were standing, very low according to Olive. There's blurred photo below, the original photo filled the full 8256 frame so if maths is your game and you calculate the height tell Olive....
