The new Murton sluice gate is working - hooray

Some from this week including a juvenile Wood Sandpiper at Murton NR found by local ringer Chris while checking up on the Little Ringed Plovers. Also at Murton three Dunlin which are not common visitors, perhaps showing the lowering of the water level is working for the benefit of the waders. A new sluice was provided this season from money donated to Murton from Angus and Dundee Bird Club.

Wood Sandpiper, unfortunately it was always at the far end of the car park pond

Sandwich Tern, Inchcape Park, Arbroath seen in-between the frequent showers

No sign of Roseate Terns so I got bored and took this photo of a friendly Redshank at Whiting Ness, Arbroath
