A close look at Tadpoles

A catch-up from my garden safari including the tadpoles stages, butterfly dating, a thirsty wasp, Starling invasion and generally photos of anything that got in the way of my camera/s.

Starlings bathing, click here for video      Tadpoles trying to get the best position

The most developed of the tadpoles in my pond on June 5th

A bit like a Monkfish, all head and a long tail

Female Small White Butterfly showing a male she is receptive to mating

European Potter Wasp Ancistrocerus, as you can see I still haven't managed to get rid of the duckweed

Tutsan, planted by the birds

Delphinium, planted by Olive

Starling adult in my garden, just one of around 60 Starlings making a racket until Olive flushed them. I suppose she has to do the gardening sometime!

Juvenile, not many weeks old but appears to have a louder call than the adults

Volucella bombylans a Bumblebee mimic and most agree the best

Woodpigeon

Yellowhammer female, it landed almost too close for the camera to focus
