Distant Crossbills, a Robin, Tits and a Tick

My first visit to the woodland hide at Montreathmont this season, where I had to clear the overgrown path which was almost invisible under ferns. On the way back Crossbills were heard calling and I tracked down four preening high in the trees. Three days later an itchy spot on my leg proved to be a tick, a small nymph which Olive easily removed with a "tick tool", so far no ill effects and none expected.

Some photos below from the hide, with Olive's Robin, a stunned Dunnock, and very large Buff-tailed Bumblebee Queen in her garden.

A Dunnock that appeared to have collided with a window, it flew off to cover when I approached

Same Robin, it sings for most of the day
